Funerals / Memorials
Concordia is a congregation that cares for people from before birth and for their friends and family after they die. Funerals at Concordia are celebrations of lives lived and faith cherished. At the same time, funerals are an opportunity to recognize something alien and unnatural has crept into God’s creation—death. Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, we have reason to celebrate as well as to reflect on how God’s love unraveled the hold death has on each of us.
If after death occurs you would like to plan a funeral under the spiritual care of Concordia’s ministry, please contact the church office before coordinating with the funeral home. Our facilities are used all day, most everyday. While we make space for the unexpected, such as funerals, coordinating with us before final scheduling with a funeral home is imperative. In planning funerals at Concordia, only Concordia pastors are authorized by the congregation to officiate. Exceptions to this rule are made only by the pastoral staff.
Additional information about funerals at Concordia are available by contacting the church office.
