Call Committee Update

For the last several months, the Call Committee has been prayerfully working through the process of seeking to discern God’s will for our next Senior Pastor  -- preparing well ahead for Pastor Bongard’s retirement at the end of next year. By God’s grace, we have reached another important step in that process. This month, the Call Committee is having video-conference conversations with several of the pastors on our Call List. Through these conversations, we have an opportunity to learn more about them and their ministry – beyond what we’ve had a chance to read about on paper. We also have a chance to share with them the wonderful ways that God is at work at Concordia!  We are using the Senior Pastor Ministry Description that was created from congregation survey input to consider how the pastors we are interviewing may fit the ministry needs of our church. From the conversations we have, the Call Committee will prayerfully consider if God is leading us to continue with one or more of these pastors in our Call process, and potentially ask them to visit us here at Concordia. We will keep you informed in the weeks ahead. Before we reach the step of extending a Call to a pastor, the congregation will have an opportunity to learn more about the pastoral candidate and will vote whether to extend a Call. In the meantime, we thank you for your continued prayers -- of thanksgiving for God’s work in this process, and for His wisdom and discernment, both for our Call Committee and for the pastor who He has in mind for us!
