Join us this for the season finale of Music on the Terrace! Concordia is closing out our monthly summer series with an incredible evening of live jazz featuring congregation member Andrew Binder on bass, Greg Dallas on guitar, Matthew Galik on piano, Jared McFarland on drums, and a special guest vocalist. The band will perform an engaging mix of original jazz compositions, timeless standards, and custom jazz arrangements of favorite hymns and pop tunes.
It’s completely free, open to everyone, and rain or shine! Attendees are invited to worship with us at 5:00 PM—with a designated cooler storage area inside so you can keep your snacks and drinks cold during the service—before heading out to the Terrace to relax and celebrate a wonderful season of music and fellowship together. About Andrew Binder
Dr. Andrew Binder is a bassist, composer, and educator from St. Louis, Missouri. He is a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a 2008 graduate of Christ Community Lutheran School.
He currently teaches at Jazz St. Louis, Jefferson College, and Webster University Community Music School. Dr. Binder has also performed at jazz venues across the United States with internationally acclaimed artists such as Thaddeus Tukes, Jay Webb, Tammy McCann, Edu Riberio, and Chip McNeill.
Everything You Need to Know for Music on the Terrace
What: On Saturday, May 30, Concordia will kicked off Music on the Terrace, a series of five monthly live music performances on its outdoor terrace.
When: Monthly from May through September on Saturday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Consider attending the 5:00 p.m. worship service and staying afterwards for this fun evening of fellowship.
Who: Everyone is invited to attend. Bring a friend! Families are encouraged to attend with their children and play in the grassy area alongside the Terrace as needed.
Where: The musicians will play from Concordia's outdoor terrace. Attendees can enjoy the music from the Terrace or the grassy area alongside the Terrace. This is a rain or shine event. If inclement weather occurs, the event will move indoors.
What to Bring: Pack a cooler with your own food and drinks. If you're attending the 5:00 p.m. worship service beforehand, bring your cooler inside to the designated area to help keep everything fresh. If you're planning to enjoy the music from the grassy area, bring a lawn chair or a blanket for comfortable seating.
