Call Committee Prayer: Week 5

No matter where we are in the Call Process for our next Senior Pastor, God's work continues every day at Concordia and through other ministries around the world. Those ministries are led by trained church workers who have committed themselves to spreading the Good News Jesus’ love. God works through people to accomplish His good purposes.

This week happens to be the week when the students who attend our Lutheran seminaries receive their first ministry assignment—their first "Call."  Today we offer a prayer of thanks to God for these servants newly entering the mission field.

Call Committee Prayer

Almighty Father, we praise You for all the ways that You equip Your ministries to share the love of Jesus. We are grateful for the women and men You have placed into churchwork. Be with those who are receiving their first Call this week. Give them the energy, knowledge, insight, and compassion they need to undertake the work before them. We pray also for an extra measure of Your wisdom as our Call Committee continues through the work of discerning the next Senior Pastor at Concordia.  In Your name we pray, Amen.
