For the past seven weeks, Concordia has been in an intentional time of prayer, seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we prepare for a new Senior Pastor. Join Deaconess Kris in praying now for a seventh time.

Call Committee Prayer

Lord, You are our Good Shepherd, our Wonderful Counselor, our steady light. Father, we are so grateful for the shepherd You sent us in Pastor Bongard. You empowered him by Your Spirit, and he has used the many gifts You’ve given him to lead Your flock here at Concordia.

Please continue to bless Steve and Becky and their family as they navigate this remaining chapter of leadership and turn the page onto the new chapter of retirement.

Lord, You know and love Concordia. And it’s mind-blowing to realize that You already have a man in mind to be our next Senior Pastor here at Concordia. Just like You know and love us, You know and love him, his family, and the people of his community.

Like You did with Abraham, and with David, and the disciples, You are about to call this man out of where he currently is and sent him out to something new. Prepare his heart and mind, his circumstances, and his community for the coming call. Give him discernment and peace and joy throughout this process.

Finally, Lord, prepare our hearts and minds too. We admit that we can be a stubborn people. So Lord, help us to surrender what we want and what we think to Your will and to Your timing. As we wait on Your revealing, give us boldness to be living examples of Your incredible love.
