Hear the Moses’ Story
On Easter Sunday, Josh and Victoria Moses shared the story of how they experienced the love of Jesus at Concordia and encourage others to connect with the church too.
When Josh and Victoria Moses first visited Concordia, they weren’t just looking for a church service to attend. They were searching for a place where they could grow deeper in faith, build meaningful relationships, and truly feel connected to a church family.
What they found was a community alive with the love of Jesus.
Josh’s faith journey began to deepen in 2020 as he felt drawn toward living a more Christ-centered life. After attending a non-denominational church for a few years, he began researching different Christian denominations and found himself increasingly drawn to the Lutheran faith.
“I was drawn to the Lutheran confession, which offered a rich tradition, structure, and theology grounded directly in Scripture,” Josh shared.
For Victoria, returning to church after years away reignited something she had been missing.
“It had been years since I’d been to church, read the Word, or experienced real fellowship with other Christians,” she said. “When Josh and I started attending church together, I felt something reignited in me. I wanted more.”
Together, they were searching for stronger biblical teaching, authentic community, and a place where their faith could continue to grow.
From their very first Sunday at Concordia, they felt welcomed.
“What struck us immediately was the warm welcome that we received,” Josh said. “It wasn’t just a friendly greeting — it was a genuine sense of being brought into a church family.”
They quickly connected with other couples in a similar stage of life, forming friendships that helped Concordia begin to feel like home.
But for Josh and Victoria, the connection went even deeper than friendships. Concordia became part of some of the most significant moments of their lives.
The couple was baptized at Concordia after spending time learning more about the faith and preparing for that important step. Not long after, they were married at the church in January.
“Concordia continued to walk alongside us through the biggest moments of our lives,” Victoria shared.
Now, each Sunday feels less like attending an event and more like gathering with family.
“So many congregants greet us and talk with us every time we see them,” Josh said. “It feels like seeing friends every time we’re here.”
As they became more connected, Josh and Victoria also discovered opportunities to serve alongside others in the congregation. Through ministries and outreach events like Night to Shine, Turkey Blessing, and the Dave Love ministry, they found meaningful ways to share Christ’s love with neighbors and the broader community.
“When you realize how much God loves you, you can’t help but want to share it,” Josh said.
Their story is a reminder of the impact a welcoming church community can have especially for people searching for connection, purpose, and a place to belong. Sometimes what begins as a simple visit can become the start of deep friendships, spiritual growth, and a life transformed by faith.
